Ken has a vision for future of Newton that involves sound fiscal policies, environmentally-responsible planning, and management reform that will help us to achieve responsive and transparent government.  We would happy to have your input and expertise in expanding our plan in the policy areas outlined below.  Have a look, and let us know your thoughts.

City Finances
Ken will pursue opportunities to lower costs and increase revenue, including:

  • Energy Efficiency of City Buildings
  • Environmentally-Sustainable Development

Planning and Development
Ken believes that development should be geared toward improving the quality of life in Newton, not just generating more tax revenue. As Mayor, he will work to implement the Comprehensive Plan and for planning goals such as:

  • Citywide Bicycle Accommodation
  • Implement Comprehensive Plan
  • Light Rail Initiative
  • Mass Pike Air Rights
  • Pedestrian Access Improvements
  • Public Transportation Access
  • Smart Growth Zoning
  • Solar Roofs Initiative
  • Ten Percent Affordable Housing Plan
  • Traffic Calming
